AWS S3 plugin performance

Hi,

I’m using AWS S3 plugin [https://book.orthanc-server.com/plugins/object-storage.html#id1] with Orthanc 20+ to store DICOMs and metadata to AWS.

But I’m facing some performance issues when I’m trying to archive a study or view a study with Osimis viewer. This kind of operation takes a lot of time and sometimes I get request timeout.

Exist any possibility to improve the performance of AWS S3 plugin?

Thanks!

Only advice we have is to run Orthanc in the same datacenter as the S3 storage (don’t run Orthanc on your local computer with the storage in S3).

FYI, here are some performance tests comparing SSD and S3 perfs: https://bitbucket.org/osimis/orthanc-setup-samples/src/master/docker/performance-tests/

Hello

Please any ideas?
I was initially using the default file system for storage and my viewer(OHIF view) could easily read/view files from there. Now i have configured orthanc to use aws s3.This works, my new uploads are being stored my s3 bucket but the problem now is that my ohif viewer can not read/view these studies being uploaded to s3

Hello,

I again have to close this topic, as you are discussing the same question in multiple threads: Configure and use aws for storage

Please stop acting like this, especially to re-open a thread that is 4 years old, and thus contains outdated information.
