When I access the plugins through orthanc explorer 2 it is possible to access some screens using the open button, an example would be connectivity-checks. Would it be possible that the worklists Serve DICOM modality worklists from a folder with Orthanc would work in a similar way?

No, unfortunately, this is not available and the worklist plugin does not keep track of past activities - and this is currently not in the plans.
