Hi everyone,

We have just released a security fix for the Osimis Web Viewer.

This message is a good opportunity to remind you that this plugin is deprecated and that you should switch to another viewer like Stone or OHIF.

The previous version had been released 3 years ago and we can not guarantee that we will fix any other future security issues that is discovered in this plugin.

Also note that, from this version, as a side effect of the security fix, the StudyDescription might not display correctly if it contains special characters and we will not fix that.

Huge thanks to Sebastien for his help rebuilding this old abandoned project.

For those interested, the CVE-2023-7238 related to this security fix in the Osimis line of products has just been published: Orthanc Osimis DICOM Web Viewer | CISA

Even if I temporarily revived our build infrastructure to create a new release of the Osimis Web viewer, I remember that Osimis Web viewer is deprecated and is not maintained anymore, including by the Osimis company, as explained by Alain and in our documentation: Osimis Web Viewer plugin (deprecated) — Orthanc Book documentation
