Orthanc Server CPU Usage Issue

Hello everyone,

I need some help with a problem we’re experiencing on a server running the Orthanc process. Specifically, when performing certain operations (such as generating a DICOMDIR file for burning or sending a C-FIND request from the workstations), the server’s CPU usage spikes to 100% during these actions, as shown in the screenshots. Running htop, it becomes clear that the Orthanc process is consuming all the resources.

I’ve checked the Orthanc logs, but even in verbose mode, I don’t get any useful details. Could this be caused by a misconfiguration?

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi @fabrizioferrara

As usual, only the logs in verbose mode can tell you what’s going on in Orthanc and gives you a hint about what Orthanc is doing.

No, you should look at the timestamps and try to figure out where Orthanc is spending a lot of time…

Another option is to share the logs :wink:
