Hi everyone,
It’s my pleasure to announce that we have just released Orthanc 1.12.2 and a few other updated plugins.
- Orthanc 1.12.2 does not include any big new features but a lot of small improvements made over the last 6 months. Check the full release notes for all details. Note that it also includes 2 security fixes which makes it a good reason to upgrade.
- DicomWeb 1.16 includes a few optimization to avoid unnecessary transcoding (full release notes)
- Orthanc Explorer 2 v 1.2.0 amongst other features, now allows to download multiple studies at once.
- Authorization plugin 0.6.2 (minor update)
- AWS S3 storage plugins 2.3.1 (minor update)
As usual, these updates are available:
- as part of the Windows Installers 23.12.1
- as part of the osimis/orthanc:23.12.1 Docker images
While I (maybe ) still have your attention, let me remind you that, although Orthanc is free to use, developing it has a cost :-). Right now, Orthanc development is funded by:
- The UCLouvain University
- The Orthanc Team company and its customers
- Donations collected through Open Collective
So, if Orthanc is important to your activity, do not hesitate to make a donation to Open Collective, purchase a support contract from Orthanc Team or initiate a scientific research project with Sébastien.
A few words on the current work in progress:
- On my side, I’m currently working on optimizing the Orthanc ingest performance by unleashing some PostgreSQL DB bottlenecks
- On his side, Sébastien is finalizing a java plugin (more to come)
Enjoy these new releases and the holiday season !
Alain
