Open image in stone web viewer with authorization header

Hello,
I am trying to directly open URL to display a study with stone web viewer. I have basic authentication (admin:orthanc), so the URL looks like this:
https://admin:orthanc@orthweb.test.com/orthanc/stone-webviewer/index.html?study=1.2.826.0.1.3680043.9.4245.4781167206599331693703755057688789395

However, the above URL can’t open, the browser displays a progress icon and get stuck. I use default stone web viewer configuration in orthanc.json and didn’t find much relevant config entry here. If I refresh the same page the study would load.

Is there a way to open a study link directly in stone web viewer, with basic authentication?

If you open the browser dev tools, you’ll see this error:

The browser fetch APIdoes not really appreciate credentials appearing in the url.

By the way, using credentials in a url is as secure as disabling authentication… :wink:

Thanks Alain. Understood. I’ll just take out authentication and delegate that to nginx to manage authentication.
