NAT interferes C-MOVE

Network Address Translation.jpg

In many cases, when NAT interferes with the C-Store part of the C-Move, images can’t be retrieved, even though C-FIND and C-GET can be accomplished when there is NAT. Why is that? When the Dicom protocol is a local connection between private I.P. addresses, and NAT is a translation between private and public I.P. addresses? What specific setting in the router, with NAT OVERLOAD or PAT, can really interfere with C-MOVE? And what can we do about it?
