Medfilm & Orthanc

Is someone using Medfilm with Orthanc?
I installed Medfilm on an ipad2 running IOS 9.3. I can browse images stored in Orthanc (version 1.5.6) but Medfilm can’t receive the actual images to display them.
I have 2 errors that may cause the problem:

  1. I get the error "Peer aborted Association (or never connected) from Orthanc at the end of C-Find connection from Medfilm

  2. I can’t C-Echo Medfilm from Orthanc

Here is attached the differences in logs from a C-Find call from Radiant (working) and Medfilm (not working)

Do you have an idea on what’s wrong?
Thanks, Merence

Hello Merence,

As Medfilm is a freeware (but not free and open-source software), I fear the following FAQ is an answer to your question:
https://book.orthanc-server.com/faq/proprietary.html

I hope you’ll find a solution by contacting Medfilm’s support, please share their answer!

Note that the following post suggests that Medfilm can be interfaced with Orthanc using WADO:

Hello Sébastien.

Thanks for the clarification, Medfilm not being open-source is of course a limitation.
I have contacted Medfilm, hopefully I will get a solution that I will share.

Hello Merence,

The DICOM C-GET support is one of the features that are pending on our roadmap:
https://bitbucket.org/sjodogne/orthanc/src/default/TODO

If you or another company want to sponsor the development, please consider buying professional development services from Osimis in order to get the feature implemented faster:
