DICOM Association behaviour

Hi All,
I am just starting to use Orthanc as a DICOM router and I am interested in understanding the DICOM association behaviour it uses.
I have had experience in the past of other systems that associate per image when sending or receiving data. This places extra stress on the SCU and SCP at the other end of the communication line and has lead to timeouts/missed images under certain circumstances. I’d like to make sure Orthanc sends and receives images under a single association for efficiency to mitigate this.

Hi,

Of course Orthanc sends and receives images under a signel association. No worries about that.

Have you checked Orthanc Book by the way? There are mentions about association (https://book.orthanc-server.com/dicom-guide.html) but it is not so detailed as it seems obvious that you shall not associate per image as you pointed out.
