What version of mainline Orthanc should the new release OrthancDicomWeb 1.1 compatible with

Hi Sebastien and authors,

In Windows, By what version of mainline Orthanc should the new release OrthancDicomWeb 1.1 compatible with ? The latest downloadable version of Orthanc (https://www.orthanc-server.com/download-windows.php) 1.58 is not working with OrthancDicomWeb 1.1. I tried another way by compiling the source code at (https://bitbucket.org/sjodogne/orthanc/src/default/ and https://bitbucket.org/sjodogne/orthanc-dicomweb/src/default/) under Linux for cross platform. But OHIF Viewer cannot see the images. Here are the commands I built for Windows under Linux environment:

cmake …/orthanc
-DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Debug
-DCMAKE_TOOLCHAIN_FILE=…/orthanc/Resources/MinGW-W64-Toolchain64.cmake
-DSTANDALONE_BUILD=ON
-DSTATIC_BUILD=ON
-DUSE_LEGACY_JSONCPP=ON

Could you please help since I need to run the orthanc and dicomweb plugin as well as my own plugin in Windows ?

Thanks,
Phong

Hello,

In Windows, By what version of mainline Orthanc should the new release OrthancDicomWeb 1.1 compatible with ?

Check out the release notes:
https://www.orthanc-server.com/browse.php?path=/plugin-dicom-web

=> The recommended version of Orthanc is 1.5.7 since release 1.0 the DICOMweb plugin.

The latest downloadable version of Orthanc (https://www.orthanc-server.com/download-windows.php) 1.58 is not working with OrthancDicomWeb 1.1.

As can be read at the top of the download page:

“Remark: All the Windows binaries from this Web page (i.e. all the .exe and .dll files) are compiled for 32bit architecture. Consequently, the precompiled plugins (.dll) can only be used by a 32bit version of Orthanc.”

=> You are most probably trying to use the DICOMweb DLL (that is 32bit-compatible) with a 64bit version of the Windows installer.

An updated 64bit installer by Osimis that would ship the DICOMweb plugin 1.1 is not available yet.

I tried another way by compiling the source code at (https://bitbucket.org/sjodogne/orthanc/src/default/ and https://bitbucket.org/sjodogne/orthanc-dicomweb/src/default/) under Linux for cross platform.

You are trying to compile the mainline version of the DICOMweb plugin, that is only compatible with the mainline version of Orthanc.

Use a release branch to compile the DICOMweb plugin (“hg update -c OrthancDicomWeb-1.1”).

Thanks Sebastien,

I’ve managed to compile with OrthancDicomWeb-1.1. Since the OrthancDicomWeb-1.1 use the Orthanc version Orthanc-ae0e3fd609df, I have to do a little trick by replace the file /Core/
Compatibility.h (which mentioned in thread https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/orthanc-users/teVDOc3ifgM).

I still got the issue when OHIF Viewer could not display the image when I run orthanc in Windows (although there is no issue in Ubuntu environment). Is there any different between this OrthancDicomWeb-1.1 and the previous version for Windows ? Should I post this issue another thread ?

Thanks,
Phong

I can’t provide any help without a minimal working example to reproduce your issue on my computer:
https://book.orthanc-server.com/users/support.html#discussing-a-minimal-working-example

Please post sample DICOM files, together with a sample problematic DICOMweb call issued from the command-line.

Thanks Sebastien alot, I’ve configured Orthanc Dicom Web again and it works with OHIF viewer. Thanks
