Uploading to orthanc from Brivo OEC 715

I have been successfully sending dicom over the lan from a GE 9800 OEC and today I was configuring a Brivo OEC 715 when I noticed the files were not available on the orthanc server. There was no error sending and I can see network usage increasing on the orthanc side running on Windows Server 2012r2. After troubleshooting I noticed when I send the data without patient information (feature on the Brivo) the info would arrive on the Orthanc Server with the dummy/anon patient information. Has anyone run into an issue like this before?

Orthanc uses the PatientID and PatientName to identify the patient.

If you send data without these tags, I would expect the studies to be attached to the same ‘unknown’ patient.

The PatientID is a type-2 DICOM tag [1], which means that its presence is mandatory according to the DICOM standard [2]. Any file without such a patient information is invalid.

Please run the “dciodvfy” tool from the “dicom3tools” framework in order to verify your DICOM file is valid [3]. If your DICOM file is valid according to “dciodvfy” but rejected by Orthanc, please share it so that we can reproduce and solve the issue.
