In the Orthanc book it is said that Dicom supports TLS encryption, but it does not say anythin more. Can Orthanc encrypt Dicom protocol just like HTTP?

No, Orthanc currently does not support Dicom TLS.
It’s in the TODO but we have currently no idea when it will be implemented:

Note however that Orthanc can already do encrypted transmissions of DICOM instances through HTTPS, if using Orthanc Peers or DICOMweb:

Thanks for your replies.
I’ll try using peers instead of dicommodalities. It’s a pity it does not support it yet but, there’s nothing to do.

If this is an important feature to you, you can buy a custom development by Osimis so that DICOM TLS gets implemented:

Free and open-source software requires financial support from its users.
