SSL for remote modality

Hello, I have one PACS server and Orthanc server. Previously, I used SSL certificates to connect to the PACS server, but now all interaction will occur through the Orthanc server (such commands as C-STORE)

And now I can not find any information on how to use the same certificates for the Orthanc server to connect to the PACS server.

Are there any settings in Orthanc for using SSL certificates when connecting to a PACS server?

Hi,

This is possible through peering and DICOMweb which are using an http client:

https://book.orthanc-server.com/plugins/dicomweb.html?highlight=certificatefile

I don’t think this is not possible through DICOM as it would mean implementing DICOM TLS I guess… (to be confirmed)

Kind regards,

Michel

I mean “I think this is not possible through DICOM”. Sorry for the double negation in my previous message…

I confirm: “As of Orthanc 1.7.1, DICOM TLS encryption is not supported yet. We are looking for an industrial sponsor to get this feature implemented, as it is useful in enterprise and cloud environments.”

However, SSL certificates can be used to secure the REST API (including DICOMweb):
