new images after StableAge

What is StableAge used for internally? What happens if a new image for something already considered stable is received?

Specifically, suppose there are two scenarios:

A) n+m images sent, StableAge reached

B) n images sent, StableAge reached, m images sent

Hours/days after each of these scenarios, would there be any difference in the database between the two?

Thanks.

I think StableAge is used for triggering an event which can be handled by external scripts/ plugins. For example, after an amount of time (after StableAge) if there is no new images then a study/ series could be considered as stable. At that moment, Orthanc fires a stable event, this event can be caught by defining a Lua script which has function OnStableStudy(…). In you scenarios

I would say there is no difference in database between them.

Yes StableAge is only used to send a Stable event. When a study is stable and a new instance is put into that study, the study becomes unstable, and a new stable event will be sent later.
