Hello Sebastien,
What recommendations are for an optimal setup of Orthnac infrastructure to manage high volume image transfer and imaging view in a cloud environment? We have users mainly in Asia and the USA and viewing images via a browser-based application.
Workload:
We have medium to large scale image transfer:
1- Daily 400-500 mix modality daily. mostly CT images up to 3,000 to 4,000 images put study. The study count will go to 700-800 studies daily by early October.
2- Multiple clients send us images over the internet using DICOM protocol. No TLS image transfer
3- 50/100 users are accessing images and metadata through our custom frontend. All DICOM images transfer, storage, and viewing is managed by Orthnac.
4- We installed Orthnac on four Kubernetes pods on Google Cloud.
Major Issue:
The application that is using Orthnac as backend PACS is becoming unusable.
1- Orthnac crawls to a halt when multiple clients have multiple studies. Remember we have large studies 3,000 - 4000 images per study.
2- The user/Doctor can’t view images via Stone viewer and get a timeout error.
Thanks in advance.
Imran
