Greeting All,
Has anyone installed Orthanc server on a cloud service such as Google Cloud or Amazon EC2 and upload, download, and view DICOM images from this server?
My plan is to set up many Orthanc clients on Raspberry PI, laptop and sends and retrieve DICOM images to Orthanc on the cloud.
Best regards,
Thien Le
Hi,
Not sure if this is what you’re looking for, but you can find a setup sample for the Google Cloud Platform using osimis/orthanc image here:
https://bitbucket.org/osimis/orthanc-setup-samples/src/44eed378408536479c01f863a22a69f91179d022/docker/gcp-dicom/
Kind regards,
Michel
Hello,
Installing Orthanc on a cloud service such as Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine or Amazon EC2 can be done exactly the same way as if you were installing Orthanc on a local GNU/Linux system.
The point of attention is of course security (in particular, pay attention to disable the DICOM server if you are not using a VPN!):
https://book.orthanc-server.com/faq/security.html
First, learn how to install Orthanc on a GNU/Linux on your personal computer. The rest of the procedure consists in learning how Microsoft/Google/Amazon platforms work: Get in touch with their support representatives if you have difficulties (you pay them to this end).
Sébastien-
Dear Sébastien and Michel,
Thank you so much for your help. I will learn using VPN with Orthanc on the cloud also.
Best regards,
Thien Le
