# GDCM plugin 1.6 and OHIF plugin 1.2

Dear all,

First of all, happy new year to the Orthanc community!

It is my pleasure to announce two new minor releases:

- OHIF plugin 1.2 that [fixes an incompatibility](https://discourse.orthanc-server.org/t/ohif-plug-in-question-app-config-js-blocked-due-to-mime-type/4174) with Orthanc 1.12.2.
- GDCM plugin 1.6 that brings GDCM 3.0.22 to Orthanc.

The precompiled binaries and Docker images are now available for [download](https://www.orthanc-server.com/download.php), as well as the [Windows installers](https://orthanc.uclouvain.be/downloads/windows-64/installers/index.html) and the [macOS packages](https://orthanc.uclouvain.be/downloads/macos/packages/index.html) (version 24.1.0).

Hi,  
I have an question/issue with GDCM plugin for the Orthanc. Could you please help?

Here is the environment I have:  
Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS

Orthanc version: mainline (20231025T022849)  
W0108 15:51:18.043560 PluginsManager.cpp:261] Registering plugin ‘gdcm’ (version mainline)  
W0108 15:51:18.043835 PluginsManager.cpp:157] Version of GDCM: 3.0.22  
W0108 15:51:18.043849 PluginsManager.cpp:157] **GDCM throttling is disabled**

I’m using .so files from [Orthanc downloads](https://orthanc.uclouvain.be/downloads/linux-standard-base/orthanc-gdcm/index.html) (mainline = v1.6).

So, does this mean OHIF viewer now should be able to handle JPEG2000 image?

In my understanding, OHIF does not rely on the GDCM plugin to handle J2K, OHIF should be able to decode J2K files it receives from Orthanc.

BTW, the GDCM plugin does not really have new features so do not expect any changes.
