# Add new patient in orthanc of device software

Is it real to add a new patient without uploading studies? We need to send data about the patient who is referred for CT/X-ray to the ortang - so that it appears on the device software before the CT/X-ray is taken.

Hi,

This functionality is actually a DICOM Worklist. This can be achieved with the [worklist plugin](https://book.orthanc-server.com/plugins/worklists-plugin.html) and external scripts to generate the worklist files. This can not be achieved through the User interface.
